A Sunday in Hell (1976)

The film follows the French Paris-Roubaix spring classic, notorious for the hellish paves or cobbled roads of the north "which are no longer used for traffic but only for transporting cattle - and for cycle races". We are there from the dawn preparations and rituals on the outskirts of Paris and through the rigours of the race with special focus on a number of prominent cyclists to the final ou...

The global fixed gear scene is in its golden era with races testing riders skill and commitment as they set the urban landscape as the ultimate space where fixed gear culture is being defined. The 1896 CM...

Those fat piggies could never catch a bike messenger if they didn't have a whole squad lmao embarrassing.

Of course the guy in the car in new york city is jealous and disrespectful to bike messengers. That car brained asshole won't get a dent in his stupid little car, but the biker could die. They are risking their lives and the car driver isn't risking shit sitting in their 3 ton hunk of metal. So pathetic and weak.

My first viewing 🎉😂🎉 in 2006 i was eating lunch in Morzine, not knowing we were about to witness Floyd Landis destroy his career. I was wearing my 1987 "Red Zinger" cap, and a Danish journalist asked me where i got it; he said he was in Colorado that year(!)... and i said that Lemond's Team Manager gave it to me... no idea who this journalist was.

Come on! Our finnish Long distance runners olympics champions used strong stimulant amfetamin already in 1930s! The blood doping was the first time used by the west German footballers in 1954! The british cyclist Simpson died amfetamin over dose in 1967 Tour de France! Merckx and our Long distance runner Lasse Viren they both used blood doping in 1972! Moser used blood doping 1973-1984!!

I've watched this a few times & often think of these guys whenever/where ever I ride. They would have loved the infrastructure and more sensical laws we get to enjoy in the city today. NYC has come a long way from the days of this video. Also, Skeletor is the man. & yelling "Hip, Hip!" here and there always makes a ride more fun.

Saw the video quality from thumb nail and wanted to see how shit this would be from ten years ago 😂. It this was a very enjoyable watch and one that I’ll come back to watch again for sure. Every character is very unique and original. As a guy who did bike messenger for a week in Toronto some time ago no one can beat the excitement of bike messaging in nyc. Skeletor need way better ergonomic on his bike. That bike is too low for him but he is a crazy mf. Awesome footage. Beats 98% of new video coming out at present moment. Thumbs up to whoever made it.

The taxi driver has the attitude of the majority of car drivers towards cyclists especially in the U.K. he said that cyclists need training, car drivers need training in their attitude towards cyclists, the worlds vehicle drivers need to look at the Netherlands, the majority of drivers in the U.K. who complain about cyclists are obese and a few months on a cycle would do their health and attitude a world of good

What is a shame is inflation and the diminished purchase power of the middle class. You must have really good incomes or save as hell to afford just one. I remember when I bought my first Campagnolo product (a rear mech) I had the same feeling as I had about thirty years later when I bought my first Leica camera lens. It was like holding something made of Kryptonite, the machining quality of both was like no other ...silky smooth, totally without blemish and extremey precise, it felt like perfect almost alien technology.
